GamCare, an independent UK charity, has released a road-map of what they want to achieve in the next three years and how they aim to do it.
This new strategy builds on the preceding three years in which GamCare has helped support over 100,000 people harmed by gambling through their helpline, chat rooms and treatment services.
GamCar is expanding and now delivers treatment provisions in 161 locations across the UK and is currently training 23,732 professionals across Britain to help identify people harmed by gambling.
The charity has worked with staff and gaming consumers to design an effective strategy going forward. It aims at expanding awareness of the harm that gambling can cause across the UK and to increase access to effective tools, support and professional treatment.
GamCare CEO, Anna Hemmings commented that “over the next three years, we want to put gambling harms on the map and ensure more people know about them. We will expand our services to make lasting and positive changes to those harmed by gambling.”
