The festive season is well underway, and many of Malta’s iGaming companies, which according to recent statistics employ more than 8,000 people, are rewarding staff after another year of hard work with celebrations.

iGaming Group (iGG) is one of the leading employers in Malta iGaming sector, so iGamingCapital.mt reached out to ask what Christmas looks like at the company, as well as what they hope for from the new year.

A spokesperson explains that the company was pleased to organise a team building exercise this year, connecting new experiences and people, which is also intended simply to have fun.

In small teams across departments, the company has planned a luxury breakfast, kicking off a fun day, followed by laser tag and an online Mario Kart tournament with personalised prizes for all staff.

Like many others, IGG’s initial plans were sadly derailed by the resurgence of COVID and subsequent continuation of restrictions, meaning it cancelled its Christmas party to ensure it could put health and safety first.

Christmas is a time of giving, and IGG reflects that every year, the group gathers client merchandise and gifts, and donates them to its charity auction.

Organised by COO Phil Pearson along with a few colleagues, prizes on offer this year included a bottle of Dom Perignon Champagne, a wireless speaker, and an Oculus Rift.

The company also organised a ‘How Well Do You Know IGG?’ quiz, and those working from home donated cash totalling to €400 for charity.

These events were a roaring success, according to the company’s spokesperson who tells iGamingCapital.mt: “A wonderful and powerful sense of connection in these times was shown. Really, a big thanks to all.”

Looking to the new year, the company recounts some of its main focuses, goals and ambitions for 2022.

The company’s push to foster responsible, safe and trusted gaming is an expected highlight.

“After an exciting year of growth and collaboration, iGG’s next focus is on growing the licensed offer and growing into new markets. 2022 will spark a huge push for responsible gaming drives and working with PSP’s on a sustainable plan for promoting safe and trusted gaming,” the spokesperson explains.

“Our commitment will always be about harnessing the drive and our vision to build and deliver excellent, limitless casinos,” she concludes.
