Stockholm-based sports betting and fantasy sports provider Scout Gaming, has appointed Niklas Jönsson as CFO, effective from January.

He succeeds Billy Degerfeldt, who left the company to take up employment at the same level at an unspecified firm.

Mr Jönsson has extensive experience working with promising companies in the iGaming sector, including as CFO for Global Gaming 555 AB, an operational CFO for Evolution Gaming Malta Ltd. He has also worked as a certified public accountant at PwC.

Most recently, he was CFO at BrainLit AB and prior to that at Global Gaming Group.

He celebrated his appointment, saying: “It will be fun to utilise my existing knowledge from the sector, even though Scout is completely unique in terms of its product offering and I am convinced that I will be able to contribute from day one.”

He was welcomed by the company’s CEO, Andreas Ternström, who said: “It feels very good to be able to present Niklas, who has many years of experience from the industry and knows what it takes to accelerate growth.”

Scout Gaming is a licensed and regulated B2B provider, offering what it describes as the only liquidity network for fantasy sports in Europe, and has some of the largest online operators on its client list. The company is licensed in both Malta and the UK, and publicly listed in Stockholm.

Earlier this month, the company also launched Fanteam in the US, entering 20 states including California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, and Texas.
