SBC’s Barcelona summit is heading in to its second and final day, with a packed day of conferencing and exhibitions awaiting the circa 5,000 delegates in attendance virtually and in person.

The event is one of the European iGaming industry’s most anticipated, and this year’s iteration has as a central theme how operators can reposition their offerings as a mainstream entertainment product in response to increasing competition for consumers’ leisure spend.

In light of this, the summit’s prominent speakers are examining what that means in terms of investment in new technology, the importance of getting ahead of expected regulatory changes, relationships with media businesses, and how to reach and engage with the next generation of players.

Among the prominent speakers addressing the conference on Thursday, Allan Auning-Hansen, the CEO of CEGO, Dinos Stranomitis, COO of Altenar, and Ariel Reem, CEO of Genesis Global, will be discussing how companies and iGaming leaders can adapt to navigating in a new institutional operating environment.

Another particularly exciting discussion will be held between affiliate leaders like CEO of KaFe Rocks Group Simon Pilkington, CEO of Interactive Gaming Group Cristina Niculae, and Jonathan Edelshaim, CEO of Natural Intelligence.

They will be discussing what iGaming affiliate leaders can learn from other industries, focusing on technology innovation, engaging omnichannel users and delivering greater personalisation, all with a mindful eye on the limitations a regulation-first market brings.

Following the speeches and two exclusive, invite only luxury dinner and high-level networking events, the summit will wrap up with a networking party at Barcelona’s Moritz brewery.

The event marks the continued, gradual return to normalcy for the international iGaming sector, which resumed in person networking events and summits this summer for the first time since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020.

At the time, SCB CEO and founder Rasmus Sojmark commented: “The last 16 months have been very difficult for everybody,” and explained SBC was looking forward to resuming its popular events.
