Pedro Romero begins his new role as Head of Safer Gamblings at 888holdings this week, a leading online gaming entertainment group of companies based in Israel.
Mr Romero’s experience within the safer gambling segments of the sector is extensive. He served as Head of Customer Operations at Jackpotjoy Group from Malta in 2018, moving on to being engaged as Sustainability and Safer Gambling consultant with Malta-based Gaming Innovation Group, and went on to join William Hill as its Head of Safer Gambling Policy.
Commenting on his departure from William Hill, Mr Romero thanked the different Compliance Directors he reported to, and the various colleagues he had the pleasure of working with across different projects.
Aside from his industry roles, he has been the Head of Gambling Therapy, a charity that provides online support for problem gamblers worldwide.
Mr Romero is a trained psychologist and psychodynamic counsellor with extensive CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) training. This expertise makes him one of the few people to have clinical, safer gambling and senior experience in the industry.
He is also an Executive Leadership Coach, trained at the prestigious Tavistock Institute.
