The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) revoked the licence of Fantasy Sports Interactive Limited, effective as of 24th November, it announced in a statement issued last week.

“The Malta Gaming Authority has decided to cancel the authorisation awarded to Fantasy Sports Interactive Limited,” it said.

Fantasy Sports Interactive, registered in the UK, held a B2B licence with the MGA for Type 4 Gaming Services, referring to controlled skill games.

The regulator said the company breached “regulation 9(1)” of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations.

It cited two reasons behind the cancellation of authorisation, namely a failure to comply with an order issued by the MFSA and failure to pay in a timely manner all amounts due to the regulator.

Therefore, Fantasy Sports Interactive Limited “is no longer authorised to carry out gaming operations and is required to immediately settle all outstanding fees that are due to the Authority”.
