The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has announced its cancellation of Evobet’s licence in the country after finding it broke rules relating to the payment of regulatory fees.

The company held a B2C gaming services licence and operated a number of betting portals, but is no longer permitted to do so as the MGA says it breached regulation 10 of Malta’s Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations.

This section relates to a failure to comply with one or more obligations as required by the regulatory instruments or laws of Malta, or the failure of an authorised person to pay amounts owed to the Authority.

Evobet is no longer authorised to carry out gaming operations, register new players, or accept new customer deposits, but is required to retain and provide all registered players with access to their player accounts.

It is also required to refund all funds to players and to settle its outstanding fees with the MGA.

The company is only the latest to have its licence voided due to failed payments to the regulator and in recent months a number of operators, including Magic Services Ltd, CZ Trading and Cyberslotz.com have also had their licences cancelled for this reason.
