LeoVegas Group today announced its sponsorship of the 2022 La Valette Malta Marathon organised by local community group Corsa and recognised by AIMS.

The race is expected to attract more than 700 runners and will pass through some of Malta’s most scenic areas, including the Valletta fortification and Sliema coastline. Participants can choose to complete a walkathon, a half marathon, or a full marathon.

The sponsorship enables LeoVegas Group to increase brand awareness and visibility by displaying, for instance, branded beach flags and banners.

Ernest Mercieca, global employer branding specialist at LeoVegas Group, said “We are proud to sponsor the 2022 La Valette Marathon, and have a long tradition of supporting local Maltese initiatives.

“These last few years have been challenging for many, and we are excited to be able to support Corsa in their mission to promote wellbeing – something that is very important to us as an organisation. This is a race for everyone, and we hope to see you all there!”

Malta plays an important part in LeoVegas Group’s history: the group opened its Malta office in 2012, and continues to expand its Maltese operation.

The number of employees has increased steadily over the years, and today the company employs over 500 across the island. All employees have an annual well-being allowance, and the company runs numerous initiatives throughout the year to promote physical and mental well-being.
