Malta-based B2B betting solutions provider GoldenRace has been granted a licence to operate for retail and online markets by the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC).

GoldenRace will now operate in eight countries across Europe, including Malta.

Martin Wachter, CEO at Golden Race commented that “we are very happy to be licensed in Greece. It is part of our business strategy to accomplish every country’s requirements to be able to offer our leading virtuals there.”

Greece passed a gambling reform bill in 2019 designed to boost economic development in the country. Under this new legislation, gamers are capped at €2 per spin with a three-second minimum with players allowed to win a maximum of €70,000 per round.

Since new legislation has been introduced, the country has now granted licences to Playson, Bettson, Bet365 and Play n’ Go – companies all registered in Malta.
