Walid Sultan Midani has celebrated after Warshmallows, a multiplayer platform game developed by the Malta-based indie game studio he founded, made it onto the front page of prominent computer game store Epic.

Taking to social media, the co-founder of YouRun studio celebrated: “BOOM! Warshmallows is on the FRONT PAGE of the Epic Games Store.”

The studio, which was set up in 2018 and employs an international team, says it aims to mix the casual gaming axes to esports and animated series to create a new combined consumer experience.

Warshmallows is a “multiplayer couch game” that “aims to bring back the fun of spending quality time with your family and friends.”

To do so, the player take control of a ‘Warshmallow’ with abilities like triple jump, dash and time slowing.

The studio described every match of the game as “an epic test of skills, speed, and reflex.”

Warshmallows has already been recognised as a fan favourite, being voted the Nordic Games Discovery Contest 2020 People’s choice award.

YouRun received support from Malta Enterprise for its development.
