Sharedplay Cristina Tubatu Jacqui Gatt Karolina Pelc

Leovegas-backed startup SharedPlay has announced the appointment of Cristina Turbatu as the company’s new chief technology officer (CTO).

The announcement comes since SharedPlay appointed Jacqui Gatt as its chief operating officer (COO). Ms Turbatu will join the startup after spending over five years at Playtech, a one-stop shop for gaming operators.

Commenting on Ms Turbato’s appointment on social media, SharedPlay founder and CEO Karolina Pelc wrote:

“When I set out to find the ideal candidate for the CTO role at SharedPlay, everyone was sceptical.”

She shared that when people saw the requirements she was after for the role, people wished her luck on the seemingly challenging task.

The requirements, as the founder relays, are as follows:

  • Gaming experience, stand out technical skillset and hands-on with code in all the modern technologies
  • Mix of an industry-leading experience with start-up entrepreneurship and a true innovation mindset.
  • Amazing leader with a proven track record of hiring, managing and, more importantly, nurturing great development teams.
  • Impressive personality, ultimate professionalism and the ability to act as a brand ambassador alongside active contribution towards building the company vision and culture.

“Guess what. We found all that and more, so I am BEYOND excited to welcome Cristina Turbatu to our team as our Chief Technology Officer.

“At this pace, I won’t be getting off your LI news feed anytime soon, but you got to admit, these are news worth sharing! Managing Director of Girls in Tech chapter, I mean, camon’.”

Mr Turbatu herself took to social media to express her excitement:

“I’m excited to join the executive team of SharedPlay as CTO next to Karolina Pelc and Jacqui Gatt, two of the most impressive women in gaming!”
